I recently stayed overnight at a hotel and wanted to pack the most minimal amount of cosmetics with me. I really didn’t even want to fuss with makeup brushes so I decided to pack only makeup that I can apply without the use of makeup brushes.
My makeup case for travel – a gwp from Smashbox.
I love this little makeup case for travel – the detachable main compartment holds my compacts and tubes of makeup while the roll portion has slots for pencils and makeup brushes. However, for this overnight stay, I opted to not pack any brushes.
I got this case for free, but it’s for sale on ebay (the listing also has good photos of the interior)
Here’s what I brought with me:
v Maybelline Eraser Dark Circles treatment Concealer in #150 Neutralizer – $13 for 6ml (drugstores)
v Maybelline fit Me Concealer in #20 Sand – $10 for 6.8ml (drugstores)
v Shiseido Sheer and perfect foundation SPF 18 in i20 natural Light Ivory – $35 for 30ml (department stores)
L to R: TiGi Bed Head Longwearing Creme Eyeshadow in brown Sugar, make up For ever Aqua Eyes waterproof eyeliner Pencil in 24L Taupe, Daiso refillable eye brow pencil in Dark Brown, Jemma Kidd Blushwear Creme Cheek Colour in #03 Pawpaw
v TiGi Bed Head Longwearing Creme Eyeshadow in brown Sugar (I got this on clearance and suspect this brand no longer makes cosmetics – an alternative would be either Yves Rocher Ultra Long-Lasting cream Eyeshadow in Mercury or Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst)
v Make Up For ever Aqua Eyes waterproof eyeliner Pencil in 24L Taupe – $24 for 1.2g (Sephora)
v Daiso refillable eye brow pencil in Dark brown – $3 (Daiso)
v Physicians formula Eye Booster™ 2-in-1 Lash boosting eyeliner + Serum in Deep brown – $15 for 0.5ml (drugstores)
v Jemma Kidd Blushwear Creme Cheek Colour in #03 Pawpaw (this brand is discontinued now but another good cream blush formula is MAC’s Cremeblend Blush, and the shade Ladyblush is comparable)
And of course, my trusty Cover girl Clump Crusher mascara.
These items are my quickie makeup items – they’re not all my absolute favourites or longest wearing products but their ease of application make them great travelling companions. I was able to slap everything on my face in record time!
